Date: 12/25/12 5:26 PM My 17 yo daughter is so impressed with the results of my recent project, my first for decades, that she has asked me to make her a summer top and shown me a pic of what she wants - it's just a drawstring-type neckline front and back and the top falls in the resulting gathers. The shoulders are simply the drawstring bits, if that makes sense. It would be very simple if I could find a pattern for it and I'm sure there's bound to be one. Does anyone know of a pattern like that? Thanks in advance. ------ Lisa from Brisbane, Australia |

Date: 12/26/12 8:59 AM Haven't figured out how to copy a link on my iPad, but New Look 6179 might provide a good beginning. Eliminate the sleeve and just let the drawstring be the "strap" at the shoulder. What I like about this pattern is that there is less volume of fabric in the body. Researching the best pattern of this type for my tiny but busty daughter has brought me to New Look 6179. ------ "We don't see things as they are, we see them as we are." Anais Nin

Date: 12/26/12 11:09 PM I've never heard of a pillowcase dress! But they look super easy. I have a few nieces and this looks so easy and I'm sure they'd love them. ------ Lisa from Brisbane, Australia |
