Well, am *I* thankful today! I will have saved myself nearly $100! I had intended to buy the LB6800PRW dual sewing/ embroidery machine, when I took a closer look at the specs of the SE-400 and found that they were the exact same machine, save for the "Project Runway" logo! This has been confirmed to me by this blog post: http://www.brotherse400.com/brother-lb6800prw-brother-se400/

Lesson? Caveat emptor! :)

Indeed! Or more money for thread.... It was just by happenstance that I clicked on the SE-400 model on the Brother website and realized that I was physically LOOKING at the same machine being sold as the LBR6800PRW! So, that prompted me for some more investigation.

You can compare at Brother and then at the vendor of choice. I have read that sometimes there can be a difference in the packaging.

Access the Brother site, then select Specifications and scroll down to Carton Contents:

SE 400

LB 6800 PRW

oops, I think the case might be the only difference; the machines list their accessories in slightly different order.
