Evening Suit for ladies

On researching a local casino in an upscale resort, it said that after 7p.m., ladies could wear evening suits. Would it be a jacket and skirt made from a glitzy fabric?

But perhaps a shorter skirt would be just fine with a jacket. When I think of an evening jacket it would have a bit of glitz or a distinctive cut, or a yummy feeling fabric--something that makes the jacket special. ------ re-living my youth through sewing...

Those examples are pretty much what I thought they meant. I love the sheen(satin)look, but how on earth do you sit in something like that and not stand up looking like one massive wrinkle? Any fabric suggestions? I have patterns that I can tweak for the look. I feel good in a skirt, but would like to make pants as a backup

I've never sewn with it up have always loved the hang or drape of it with my RTW trousers. I think it can be dressy but also can be worn for every day, depending on what you wear with it.

It has a slightly pebbly texture, almost like a crepe in knit. It drapes beautifully and is pretty wrinkle resistant. What about a maxi- dress? A wrap style would be beautiful long or short. You could trim the wrap edge with something lustrous. Think also LBD- often it's how you accessorize that will take you from day time to evening. A dressy big scarf, shawl or shrug could help you really shine. Then there's shoes and jewelry- oooooh, have fun! ------ Sometimes she didn't always follow the recipe.
