for free motion quilting or embroidery?

I am wondering if it's worth it or not. I have a Creative 4 and a Quilt Expression 4, and am mainly interested in using it for free motion quilting.

Uh huh have it, used it...LOVE it!!!

I think this foot is absolutely worth buying! It automatically adjusts the height depending on the thickness of the embroidery area, and on heavily satin-stitched areas, such as on the Kara Kreations wintery tree designs, it works wonderfully! No thread breakages and no mooshing of the embroidery.

I've not done any FMQ, so don't know if it's better than the other feet for that.

I have used it for embroidery and it is awesome!. I tested it with free motion and liked it, but I have not used it. I think it is well worth the cost. I find it a little fiddly to attach, but nothing that frustrates me.

Thanks Lynne and JanyceR!

I think I will get it. I just ordered the yarn couching feet set (LOVE that and CAN NOT WAIT to get it!) and the chenille foot, and the guy said he'd give me a few $$ off the dynamic spring foot.

I've used it for both embroidery and free motion. I like it for embroidery but for free motion I would rather it be an open toe design or clear, for visibility. It is a tad fiddly to put on, but not really a big deal. I do think it's worth having.

I am positively giddy right now with new sewing stuff!

For YEARS and years I sewed what I HAD to sew, I had to pay for my girls competitive dance and their prom dresses, then I sewed for their performing arts high school because I feel it's important to give all I can to the schools.

Now I am FREE!!! I sew for ME! I sew what I WANT to sew! What a NOVEL idea! LOL!!! The only sewing I do for others is quilts and blankets for Project Linus, and I do those because I LOVE to make quilts and blankets.

I never had a need for extra feet before, but now I want to make quilts and blankets with textures and decorative stitches. All those lovely little embellishments are FUN!!

I just told hubby there was another foot this guy is offering, He said Do you need it? I said No but I WANT it. He said well get it!

I do LOVE that man!

Right now I am only using the sensormatic foot that came with my machine for free motion quilting. It's not bad, but I wonder if an open toe foot would be better for FMQ.

Gee, that would mean I'd need ANOTHER foot

Although I am just a newbie to FMQ, I do prefer an open foot to see. BUT, I also love the foot for embroidery so I think you need both!

Sewing machines make me happy. I like sewing with them, cleaning them, petting them, gazing longingly at them.
