Sewing Resolutions 2013 Plans and Pledges

My pledge is to only buy patterns and fabric when I am about to use them - rather than when I see them. this should have the side effect of reducing my stash. I am buying patterns like mad in the BMV sale so I should be able to cope for a while. I have 2 camera's that have photos of WIP's on them and I can't find either of them! And I just can't get a good enough photo with either my Android or my iPhone cell phone. I have a dritz one, but also have the fabulous fit padding system. Hoping to get that worked out sooner rather than later. 2. Organize my fabric. 3. Buy a sewing machine cabinet and organize sewing stuff better. 4. Patiently wait for Jalie's new patterns!!! ------ Relax, don't get your elastic all twisted up in your waistband! Hell hath no fury for the poor soul that sews an ill-fitting garment! Date: 12/31/12 5:03 PM Organize the sewing cave (space is an issue) Move fabric from around the house to said cave (3/4 done) Organize and file pattern stash so I can find the only pattern that will do. Sew 12 garments this year Master a blouse that fits Sew from stash as much as possible (easier when the pretties are all together) Master the serger (watching the Craftsy class for a bit every evening) The whole list written down looks almost overwhelming. I'll have to bulk up on sewn items early in the year, the spring is mad busy for us this year. Happy busy fortunately

I can live a little longer without custom-embroidered clothing labels. Stop being afraid of my serger and just try it! 3. Cut into what I think is my 'good' fabric and make something for myself, even if I'm not yet at the perfect weight/shape.

I've been struggling since my move now that I work from home and have gained weight. I'm going to stop being frustrated and just sew! I'm going to sew harder things like lined jackets and things that take longer to complete. I'm going to sew in the welt pockets, etc that I usually skip on garments so I can get them done faster. I need to be back on my fabric fast or at least only buy what I want to sew and maybe sell some of my dressier fabric I will never use now. ------ http://kimsewsilly.blogspot.com/
