I for one am looking forward to 2013. This year was just too action packed - and not in a good way. It seemed like the Drama Llama had taken up residence in my home and was refusing to leave.

Thanks to many of you, I survived it. Thanks for listening and the great advice and notes of support I got from many of you.

Anyone have plans or resolutions? My main resolution is to keep looking after me physically and mentally. That ties to goal #2 - keep learning to say NO with grace and dignity (instead of the steam roller approach I have sometimes used in the past.)

Goal #3 is that I really want to find more time to sew and hone some skills there too. Life has a way sometimes of derailing those types of plans but I am sure going to try and make it a priority.

DH thinks I should also learn how to drive in reverse much better. For example, so that I can back into parking stalls. He is probably right... but I have survived this long avoiding it. Besides won't that interfere with goal #3?

Wishing you all a very Happy New Year and may only good things grace your doorway in 2013!

Happy New Year to you! I hope your goals prove to be molehills instead of mountains.

I am trying very hard to have a positive outlook, but 2013 is not looking great so far.

I am determined to learn a new skill this year. I would like to learn to quilt.

As well I will go for a walk in the evening 2 nights a week. By myself, or with others. I am lucky to have a starbucks a mile from home, in the evening I drink mint tea. Thus I will get a 2 mile walk, a zero calorie drink ($2.00) and perhaps some nice company.

I'm ready for the new year. A lot happened during the old and I'm more than ready to let it go and move on.

I am so ready for 2013. I gave birth to a beautiful, wonderful daughter in June, but that's been about the only positive thing that's happened this year.

We found out that my employer-sponsored medical insurance provided lousy coverage and my daughter's birth cost us an arm and a leg. While dealing with those bills, we were hit with a mountain of other expenses (car repairs, a flooded bathroom, etc) that drained a substantial portion of our meager savings (which took a big hit a couple of years ago when my husband was unemployed for nearly a year). And of course, for the fifth year in a row, I didn't receive a raise at work.

We're working to make positive changes for 2013. DH and I have switched to a low-carb eating plan and have gotten a good start on our weight loss journeys, which we plan to continue through 2013.

I've gone back to school with an intent to pursue PMP certification to hopefully proactively get my salary up, rather than waiting around for a raise that may or may not come.

And of course, we will continue to enjoy our beautiful, sweet, an amazing little baby girl. :)

Best wishes to you all! Although it's unlikely we'll ever meet, you all make a difference in my life! The tips, support, helpful comments, good humor all make me feel that I am connected to a village of wonderful people, sisters (and a few brothers) in sewing.

What do I look forward to? Like most of us I plan (I was going to say "hope") to mend my ways in my eating and exercise habits, and can truthfully say I have already made some good progress. I also would like more time to sew. Every year my garden is more satisfying, and I look forward to enjoying that in the coming spring and summer.

Happy New Year!

I feel sad: only 1 year left for the old GED: then, they're going to make the test harder.

I teach the GED. Nobody seems to have a plan for all those low-income Americans who will now fail the GED, and fail to get their high school credential. What's the PLAN?

You'll be sewing more if you lose weight you'll be altering your clothes.
That's really the reason I haven't lost any weight this year, I hate alterations.
