Date: 1/1/13 2:11 PM I posted in another thread looking for information regarding embroidery software. I was looking at Embrid and Embrilliance.
Someone emailed me saying that Embrid would NOT work with my 730.
Can anyone elaborate on this??? What do you other 730's use other than the Bernina software? I haven't done any embroidery before so I'm not ready to commit to the cost of the bernina software yet. And the easier the better for me! ------ Lorri

Subject: Embrid Date: 1/1/13 2:42 PM Hi,
I just checked my
Embird program. It can download ART but it cannot convert other design files to ART. There is a way around that I think. If your machine can take DST or EXP files, then the designs that you download can be converted to the DST or EXP files and stitch out on your machine.

Subject: Embrid Date: 1/1/13 4:47 PM I didn't realize you had a Bernina. They are very proprietary with their format so third party software won't convert to ART.
I don't have a Bernina so can't say for sure but my understanding is the same as Harriet's. Embird can read ART files so you should be able to use Embird for existing Bernina files. Or if your machine can read dst or exp you can use those type of embroidery files. Some people find those type of embroidery file more confusing to use because they don't contain color information. You can't convert a Brother file (pes) to ART.
How do you get your designs to your machine? Can you do that without the Bernina software? If you can't transfer designs without Bernina software then there's not much point in looking at third party software. |

Subject: Embrid Date: 1/1/13 4:57 PM Hmmm, I know there are other Bernina users around who have had a 730 and who swear by Embird. I'm guessing there is a way to use it. I have only heard good things about Embird.
I know you can get really helpful information if you join the Bernina Yahoo group--There are embird users there who can tell you the ropes. The group I'm specifically thinking about it called 430_440_630_640_730.
PM me if you need more info on joining a yahoo group. ------ Berninas 830LE ♥ Artista 630PQE ♥ 930 Record ♥ Juki TL2010Q ♥ Pfaffs Creative Performance ♥ Passport 2.0 ♥ Singers 221 ♥ 301 ♥ 500a ♥ Kenmore 1040 ♥ Elna 'Grasshopper' ♥ Tacsew T500 ♥ Babylock Evolution |

Subject: Embrid Date: 1/1/13 6:27 PM Thanks. I actually just joined the other day and posted there but haven't heard any replies yet.
I don't know enough about how all this works yet. Maybe I need to go back to the dealer and get some very specific information and classes on how to work the editing side of embroidery. I'm determined to learn it but it sure seems complicated! ------ Lorri
