Can I get by without hemming on rayon/Lycra 11 oz. knit top? Last year I purchased a cotton/Lycra funnel neck top with absolutely NO hems for a whopping $40.

Why not? If you like the look, go for it. That's the great thing about sewing--you get to be the boss!

You betcha!

I made two sweater knit tunics that have no hems at all. Just remember if the edges curl they will curl unhemmed.

Thanks! The slightly curled edged don't seem to matter since the top fits snugly. I laid the RTW top out and cut a pattern...same front and back. It will definitely be a one hour or less project.

If you'd like you can do a row or two of straight stitching along the raw edges for a bit of stability. It doesn't stop the roll along the edge.
