If you can trace the logo, and it is a simple outline you may be able to digitize it.

I think there are services that do digitizing for you.

I CAN do it with my 5D software but OMG is it complicated. I do not enjoy computer stuff, so I have not really gotten the most out of my (very expensive) software.

I need to get a laptop so I can go take some classes on it.

I think she is going to have to pay a big price to have this done. I know that OESD does it so I will pass that along to her.

I have been having great luck with the digitize and stitch program. it is very easy to use. A friend of mine had a clipart that he wanted to make into a small motorcycle patch. I ran it through Adobe Photoshop first to clean it up, then run it through the digitize and stitch. there is a free editor program that you can use to make small modifications, then transferred it to the embroidery machine, and done!

I too, think it's worth a try for her to do that too actually. I don't have Digitize and Stitch, but do have an even older version of it called Stitch and Click, and depending just on how picky you are, and mostly just what your clip art even happens to look like, as in the properties and shapes of it, sometimes things really do come out "amazingly well" when just run though there and sometimes just not so much. But, the Digitize and Stitch version is even a free trail download on the Amazing Designs embroidery site, which I think means you get to use it free for at least a few weeks and just play with it anyways. And it's not just a play with on the computer only at all version, it really lets you save out embroidery files and really sew them out too. It's here for trail play with it, if you want to try it:

For what it is, on my even older version, I actually had a lot of fun just running lots of clip art through my slightly older Click and Stitch program, made by the same folks, and I do actually have lots of full manual digitizing. more other kinds of embroidery software too. I don't think you are going to get any small letters autodigitizied out of there all that great, and such, but if just having a piece of clip art or such, nothing to loose by just running it through there and just seeing what might happen at all.

It's not going to take a real photo well though, but it might a high resolution (300-600 dpi) bit map or some vector file. If all you got is really a photo, then best bet if doing that there, would be to try to simplify that by running it through something like Photo shop's stamp filter, to more posterize it and simplify it, and then just recolor it later, in more like 5 or 6 colors, rather than a million/zillion colors in any photo though.

Thank you for your post. I have her drawing and I can have someone help me get it ready. Just let me know what I need. I do have photo shop but will ask my son to help with this project. Maybe scan it in to you so you could see what it takes?

I am sorry it has been so long in posting. everyone is sick around here!
