Date: 1/4/13 1:59 PM Hello dear sewers, first of all let me state that I have Raynauds and need to sew my own stuff. After five hours of web surfing I was finally able to purchase the Jalie thermal long johns pattern. But it requires 40% stretch fleece and the only stretch fleece that I can find is in Alibaba (as Chinese warehouse).
Also, if anyone has any other suggestions for warm fabric with 4way stretch I would be grateful.
I have neck issues so I am modifying the pattern to a vneck and than finishing the edge with fleece binding. Tell me what you think?

Date: 1/4/13 2:09 PM Did you try The Rain Shed. Here They will send samples, and I bet a phone call will let you know the stretchability.
Or
Malden Mills. Here
They can also tell you what the stretch factor of their products are.
Hope that helps!

When I made long underwear for DS's winter camping adventures(Can't believe I let a 12 yo sleepout in the snow with his scout troop) I sized up 2 sizes when my fleece was only 25% stretch. HTH |

Subject: HHHHEEELLPPPP!!! I cant find 40% stretch fleece Date: 1/4/13 9:03 PM What you're looking for is powerstretch. It comes single and double sided. The single sided is designed for the fleece to against your skin,it is smooth on the outside and that helps when putting clothes over it. It comes in several weights so make sure you're getting the weight suitable for long underwear. Often the greatest stretch in lengthwise vs the usual crosswise. That can affect your layout.
Besides the above sources, another one is Seattle Fabrics. ------ My grandmother taught me to sew when I was 10, and I've been sewing ever since. |

Subject: HHHHEEELLPPPP!!! I cant find 40% stretch fleece Date: 2/15/13 2:09 PM Just wanted to add that The Green Pepper has black PolarTec Power Stretch ($14.98/yard) and PolarTec 200S stretch fleece ($10.98/yard). Both descriptions say 4% lycra. The Power Stretch is single face and the 200S is double faced. -- Edited on 2/15/13 2:11 PM -- ------ -- Anne
