There's a you tube video on that. I know you have to hold the clear button down as you turn on the machine and keep holding it until the machine is fully on. I'll look and see if I can find the video and post it for you. I just did this with my machine and its super easy. I actually went to my dealer to have this checked out and they made me turn away, and they covered the machine so they could do this. How ridiculous!!

I would be changing dealers to a more professional dealership. Very childless.

Agreed!

Those are the kind of places that make me wanna pull a "Pretty Woman" kind of stunt....

Go back in on the day you have $10,000 burning a hole in your pocket to buy a new TOL and then say... "ooops... sorry.... but your moronic stunt just cost you this sale"... lol

You're right, I won't be using that dealer again. I just bought a Brother machine and the stitch count is displayed right on the screen. Well, I was able to go into the Bernina and found the information. I'm still not sure what I'm going to do with this machine, don't want to sell it to a friend or anyone else, really. It has been a lemon from day one. Lots of issues with it. I bought the floor model and now I just found out it is older and had a lot more hours on it than what I was made to believe. I may just take it to our cabin.....so I will only be frustrated during vacation time!

How sad! I bought a floor model 730 when they were clearancing them out last summer, and it's been a great machine. I've been going to that dealer for 15 years and they've always been terrific to me.

That's probably because pressing CLR on power brings up a service menu-- and if you don't know what you're doing, it's possible to miscalibrate your machine as various keys and functions are almost randomly assigned to "purge this memory" or "adjust this sensor response".
Now, the stitch count screen could be harmless, but others are not.

I actually went in to ask how to check the stitch count only. And they made such a big deal about it saying the owner was not supposed to perform this function. I do understand them not wanting us to mess with those functions, but this really is such a simple thing to do with the right instructions.
Dkmom: I did the same thing. Bought the floor model last year. I wanted to sell it and upgrade to the new 7 series. My dealer said she wouldn't take it as a trade-in! So I went to another local dealer (the one who made me turn away) and they are the ones who told me it was older than I was led to believe.....by 5 years!luckily....I haven't had any problems.

Yikes! That is the kind of thing that gives dealers a bad name. Why risk it as a dealer? It only makes for an angry customer.
I am so sorry it happened to you!
I love my 730e, and at this point wouldn't want to trade it. That didn't stop me from getting a 780. I am loving It! I am having a fabulous time getting to know it. It's dream to sew on. Can't wait for the 5.5mm throat plate though. That will make it complete (I love the narrower throat plate for certain tasks and am missing it right now.)
