How to add fabric to inside of bra cup at tip
Sunshine12242 Member since 6/7/11 Posts: 150	Login to reply to this post Like this post Date: 1/9/13 9:56 AM I have searched and searched for a wireless bra that could be worn with a t shirt or any knit that would provide coverage so that nothing would poke through. As I cannot find one in my size 38A, but I have bras of this size, but can't be worn without "petals or foam forms from Wacoal", but would like to add fabric permanently to the bra. I am not experienced enough to make my own bra and don't want to give up wearing knits or keep a cardigan sweater on all the time. Any suggestions on what could be added? Thank you for any help.

I'm wondering if your best bet is to find a lined/lightly padded cup that more or less fits & conceals like you like (maybe on a less expensive bra), and then dismantling the lining/padding, trimming it to fit, and sewing it into the cups of the bra you want to line. I wouldn't just do the tips--you don't want to end up with a circle or a seamline visible through your shirts--I think you'd want to line the entire cup. That will actually be easier, too, since you'll have something to anchor it to. I would join an online bra making class in a heartbeat- i need some hand holding. Store bras just are miserable for a varitety of reasons. Just yesterday I was looking at my favorite bra bought in Japan 10 years ago and I need to clone it- so utterly soft, plastic front closure and still offers support. But it needs a foam form for sweaters or knits. Great idea. ------ re-living my youth through sewing...

Shes a prof bra maker and thn I followed her link to her foam dome page. Which was tge question that introduced this thread. http://www.orange-lingerie.com/2011/beyond-foam-dome That sew along site has lots of pictures. I can finally visualize what it takes to sew a bra. I have seen the kits and all but never a series of steps as each seam is sewn. Not overwhelming anymore. And both sites explained sewing a bra from woven cotton will work- i think a lot of my misery is how much perspiration is trapped from all the synthetics. ------ re-living my youth through sewing...
