searching only goes back a short time what's up....

How can we search for old threads? I searched "thread" in the "search forum" from all the forums, and that went back to the first week of this year only. (i mean no insult to our wonderful site founder.) Instead, I use Google Advanced Search. Put your search terms in the boxes -- it allows a lot of refinements, including date ranges. Lower down, there is a box labeled site or domain: In this box, put http://sewing.patternreview.com I pull up all kinds of old threads this way.

The search engine on this site leaves a lot to be desired. Even if I type in the exact title of a topic it won't pull it up!!!! grrrr! This site could be a sewing encyclopedia if it worked right.
