Static in your Sewing Space?

Date: 1/12/13 8:31 AM Most build up is from scooting on plastic wheeled chairs on carpet or scuffing certain shoe bottoms on the carpet. Perhaps one of those desk mats under your chair- and walk in your stocking feet! My guru tech dealer said to spray static guard all around. Now I keep a can in my sewing room. he said it should work for 6 months or so. That has worked! I blame it on the resin tables and will be replacing them later on this spring. I have tried static guard and it only helps for a very short period of time. The fact that I work with mostly nylon/spandex and poly/spandex blends probably doesn't help things at all. I thought getting rid of the carpet a few years ago would alleviate the problem but it hasn't really made a difference. Date: 1/12/13 8:03 PM My husband is not allowed in my sewing room. He built it for me...now he can't come in. he can peek in...that's it. I did need something done in my room and he had to cut some paper.....I've trained him well...even though there were umpteen scissors lying about he went to the kitchen for the scissors to cut the paper!!!!
