Elna 744 Serger ~is this a good serger?

I did find an Elna 744 used about 5 hours for $450. Is there anyone that could tell me is this a good serger for someone who has never used one before? Doesn't have automatic tension. Appreciate any advice you have!

Very nice machine. Does nice stitch and very easy to thread. I think that the tensions are auto or that there is information available on the machine for each stitch selected. It does not have automatic tension, but I have not found this to be a problem. Threading is quite easy. I primarily use the 3-thread overlock and the coverstitch. Both work well on a wide variety of fabrics. I have also used the 2 thread rolled hem with decorative thread on chiffon and it was really nice. Seems like a good price too.
