My current Christmas list is as follows: DD and her hubby- king size, DS and wife - king size, 3 grandsons -twin size for each, 3 granddaughters - twin size for each, DH - quilt for napping on couch
So far the one for DD and hubby is in progress using this pattern only with slightly smaller squares.
The quilt I want to make for my hubby is maybe this one
No clue yet what Im going to do for the rest of the planned gifts.
Hubby has sorta gotten involved in my self imposed goal for the year. Since I don't have nearly enough sraps to do all these scrappy quilts, I am using a large variety of fat quarters. I explained to hubby what a fat quarter was, why I need 100% cotton fabric to quilt with, and the fact that I think that $1 or less per fat quarter is a good price. He has been watching ebay and ordering fat quarter lots for me when he finds a good deal Another package of 90 arrived today making a total of 340 fat quaters so far. He has spent way less than a buck a quarter too! Sometime next week I can expect a 16 lb box of "scraps" most a 1/4 yard or more.
This is going to be a fun year! Hopefully I can keep up the momentum and get these quilts done by Christmas! |

We just had to say goodby to his little buddy and it's been rough on us both but more so for him. I see a couple new furry friends in our future and that quilt would be a great way to welcome them to the family. ------ Lori

Love the ones you picked out, and the fact that the hubby is helping you buy fabric. Teamwork in action! |

Date: 1/18/13 8:36 AM I hope you reach your goal! All I want is to complete one quilt for my sister this year, but being it's pretty easy to piece, and I'll send it out to be quilted, I should be able to accomplish that.
I didn't make the Christmas deadline for my DH's quilt last year, I'm still working on it. His birthday isn't till November, so it won't be an occasion gift after all. I'm hoping I can get it done before the weather warms up again! ------ Bernina 730E, 530, and 350PE
