Can it be done?

Has anyone ever used a Bernina Bias binder with knits? Do you think it could be done if I used Solvy or something else to temporarily stabilize the knit?

Thanks,

Maggie

Most any binder can be used with knits. Practice is key for binding, especially with knits. If your knit is too soft to feed properly as is, give it a shot of starch first.

I tried for days- starched the heck out of it and even tried getting help from my Bernina dealer who sold me the accessory. No go. Was told it was for wovens only. Hope you have better luck- let us know how you got it to work.

Yes, you can use the binder with knits, provided the knit isn't to bulky to freed through the binder. Cut the knit on the cross-grain or bias. A straight stitch seems to work best.
