My previous methods of determining how much fabric was needed for bias binding were pretty much guesswork.
Then I found this.
Love how easy the calculator makes it!

Cool! I downloaded an app on my phone, quilting calculator. Very handy. Does binding, borders and other things.

I don't see why everyone has to make bias calculations so difficult.
Here's a revelation - Bias binding takes EXACTLY the same amount of fabric as does straight binding. And you do NOT have to start with a square to cut it.
I add a few inches to my straight calculation, because I usually have to use more seams in bias binding. But I start with exactly the same amount as for straight.
And I've bound A LOT of quilts!!!
