I recently bought a second-hand sewing cabinet with a hydraulic lift. It's in great shape, and I'd like to mount my Viking 1+ into it. However, I looked at the underside of my machine and there are no apparent mounting holes. My old Bernina has a hole that accepts a 1/4" bolt, but the 1+ has nothing. How can I attach it to the base plate of the cabinet? Or should I just let it sit loose? The platform stays horizontal, so it's not like it will fall off, but I'd rather have it secured.

I have a Horn cabinet with hydraulic lift and there are no holes on the "shelf/platform" with which to mount my machine.

Your Bernina must be a vintage? None of my Berninas (non-industrial) have bolt holes.

It would appear you have no choice. Do you think sticky, double carpet tape would help reduce any wobble?

I have a cabinet like that and its great. Don't worry-your
machine won't fall off. I wish my other cabinet had the same
system. It's devised to hold your machine without it falling-
and it's great the way that the machine will come up and down
on the hydralic lift. You bought a great cabinet!

Thanks for the feedback. My old Bernina 930 Record is bolted to its Horn cabinet, so I assumed all cabinets were like that. The "new" cabinet I got doesn't have a manufacturer label, so I don't know the brand, but it does have holes on the support board. My 1+ fits very nicely in it and it looks so much better than the plastic folding table that was its previous home!

You can put a piece of that nubby rubber shelf/drawer liner under the machine, too. It might even cut down on noise, too, if needed.
