Date: 1/23/13 2:18 AM I have purchased the latest Burda Style 10/2012 & really like the cover jacket (Leather Jacket 123). But despite it being made from nappa leather in the book what is an alternate fabric to use? Ideas please ?? Gaberdine ?? I am thinking like cotton blends, but dont want it looking rumpled looking. Many thanks |

Date: 1/24/13 11:35 AM Nappa leather has some stretch/give, so I think that you need to keep that in mind when choosing your fabric. I would be tempted to use a cotton satin with some lycra in it. or boiled wool, or a reasonably stable knit.
Nice design.
Another option if you do not want to use a stretch fabric is to make a muslin...You may need to go up a size.
