BMV Club question OOP

I am looking for 8599 Marcy Tilton vest in 14-20 size group. I can find it in the smaller sizes but not the larger. On the BMV web site they have it in OOP section but at $27. There is one on E-bay but it is the small sizes. I was hoping for something under $10. I did check out both JA's and Hancocks. ------ Ada

Date: 1/25/13 0:12 AM It is very rare that BMV has OOP patterns on sale. I think I saw it happen once in that last 3 or 4 years, but that could have been a dream I had. When initially discontinued, there is usually a period that the pattern is marked as clearance instead of OOP, and that is the time that the price will drop, though not as low as the good sale prices. The just-discontinued patterns might be $5. The best sale prices for Vogue might be $3.99, though we just had one that was lower than that, which was a first in my memory. After a bit, perhaps a few weeks or less, the price reverts from clearance to the original retail price. Then the pattern is only available as long as there is any stock. Often, it seems that only the tiniest and the biggest sizes will be in stock. All the middle sizes go first. I don't know if they print them in proportion to the number they could expect to sell or if the print runs cover all the sizes the same. ------ Fictionfan
