As I said was going to try and do this
Heart tree block

Designed a wall hanging 3 blocks (10" finished) by 5 blocks. I cut out one tree last night on the fusible paper. Not real fun. However the finished result as rather interesting enough to keep me interested. Didn't bother my hand as much as I thought. Cut it out while watching Person of Interest. The leaves will be much easier. I didn't reverse the designs. I figure if I'm consistent and don't reverse the leaves will be ok. I couldn't see through the paper to re-trace it to reverse it. I'm not putting pressure on myself to finish this by any particular time. It may just wind up potholders but as long as it's interesting and my hands hold up. I going to make the trees all brown I got some great tree fabric but re-thinking maybe should make them different colors also. I got the fusible that is also tacky so you can lay stuff out first and it will stay. Will work on the leaves this weekend.

That will be so pretty!! Instead of making the trees a different color, have you thought of making the leaves different?? Sort of a spring, summer, fall and winter thing??

Yeah I was thinking different themes for each tree by what fabrics I have. I have civil war, animals, batiks, celestial, and maybe some color themes. I have enough wolf and bear fabric I could make a wolf tree and a bear tree, a whale tree..........I was also thinking of doing little embroideries in the leaves but I don't have anything small enough and trying not to buy a lot for this. So far I've had to buy the background fabric and the tree fabric and the fusible stuff which I will probably need more of. So will maybe try to do little decorative stitching in the leaves and want to outline the lines in a traditional applique stitch. Since this will be a wall hanging think I will stabilize it as well.

Went up to sewing room last night to fool around with the new Bernina adapters for feet and started cutting leaves. Well it got addicting. the trees come together pretty easily but I see the point for reversing the design. I have some see thru vellum so will use that. the leaves got confusing as to where they go. I also practiced some machine applique and it wasn't as hard as I thought. I will post some pictures when I get the first block done. think I'm going to like this applique stuff.

today just hasn't been my day. I finished a block with a tree. It look really nice so I thought I'm ready to iron down now. I'm using the fusible that is tacky before it is ironed. Really wonderful stuff. Especially if using you window to light trace. But anyway it comes with a layer of paper each sheet so I thought I would use the paper to put over my block as I ironed sorta like a pressing cloth. Well you guessed it, I picked up the wrong sheet, the one with the glue on it that I had out doing the next set of leaves. Put it down on my finished block and ironed. My green leaves were so pretty. But now they have fusible all over them. I just had to laugh I had done everything else do perfectly. Just an off day for me. A few other things happened I won't bore you all with. I cut out another tree and tomorrow morning will start working on the leaves. I think this set will be batik.

Ugggg.......I have done that Wolf!

On my grandson's monster quilt, I had some open circle appliques and I put the teflon liner down and fused away, only to peel it off and realize I forgot to cut the center hole of the cirlce out!

I didn't remake the block, I just melted it again, scraped off what I could, and hoped it would eventually wash off.

It's still a bit tacky feeling, but it's only one spot.
