Fur pom-pon for Santa hat?

Etsy isn't helping. Anyone have a source? Or is this something I have to make myself--and how? Thanks!! ------ ~Gem in the prairie

Just cut 2 pieces of stiff cardboard or plastic into circles a bit smaller than you want your pompom. Now cut a circle in the middle of the cardboard about an inch or so in diameter so you have what looks like 2 donuts. Put them together and start wrapping your yarn around the outside and through the center (use about 1 meter lengths of yarn) until you have a good buildup of yarn. Now, get your scissors and cut through the yarn all around the outside edge of your circle until you are through to the outside edge of the cardboard. So now what you have is a bunch of straight pieces through the middle hole. Now, get a double piece of yarn, put it through the middle between the 2 cardboard pieces and tie it tight, basically tying all the short pieces together. Now, cut your cardboard pieces away, fluff up your pompom and trim it to a nice round shape. Clear as mud?
