Date: 1/26/13 8:35 AM Anyone sewed with this--some sites say easy-to-sew?
Do you need to line all colors for see-thru?
I see pretty colors online and the more-subdued prints. Is this fabric a stretchy alternative to the woven cotton lawns/voiles? |

Date: 1/26/13 9:39 AM I use either a serger or a small zig zag on my machine. Hems I do with a small zig zag. It is a very stretchy fabric, but does not have a snappy recovery from being stretched. I prefer a band neckline rather than a serge the edge and fold under finish...it helps the neckline keep it's shape. i have a few things I have made w/o lining, and it really depends on how snug fitting it will be, and how much light will get behind it. I have one twin set that is not lined, but then I always wear them together. I think you see more with a flowy design. You can always throw a cami on underneath, no? Oh, I have only made tops with onion skin, as I feel like a dress or skirt would be way too see thru, and I am too lazy to line! HTH |
