Nice Info about Bernina

Date: 1/29/13 11:46 AM I got the impression they are listed the ones with new technological advances. I later saw all this is on the Bernina site. I was just trying to find out the history of the 1630. It still amazes me some things on this machine that were done that early. As the first one came out in 1993. And you figure it was probably a few years in development. It would seem that computerized sewing found it's way into our homes faster then the PC did. As most people didn't have a pc in home till around 2000. We got our first one in 1998. I'm almost scared to take the Bernina in for service I'm scared they are going to break it or something. I do not think you are unreasonable. I fortunately have one of the best techs in the US but if not I do not know what I would do. Well, I would drive the 8 hours to get to the other competent tech I know. I only trust the guys who are continually getting training from Bernina and have been doing it a long time. Probably a bit obsessive but I have seen too many stooges in my life. Larry, Mo and Curly are everywhere!!!! I want to thank you for posting the info. Very cool. I totally get what you're saying about your 1630. At one dealer, I saw machines for service are strewn here there hither and yon. What's to keep a machine from being stolen, a needed part from being nabbed, or just knocked down and lost? They took a machine in for service to demo! I was once told my grandmother's Touch and Sew was junk and not worth servicing. My fault that I believed it More of a sentimental loss. Now I wonder if SOME dealers say stuff like that to get you to buy new. I have a dealer I like with a tech who has done basic maintenance for a couple machines. No issues. But I wish I had a tech I KNOW and TRUST like my kids' doc and dentist. You know? ------ 🌸 Plenty of machines, mostly Berninas 🌸

They have been selling sewing machines forever and before Janome were a Viking dealer. Back when Viking still owned Viking. I imagine once the cover comes off it's all pretty basic. As far as the light goes though if he can't get the replacement part I'm going to tell him just leave it I can deal with no light. I have a clip on light right behind it now. The tension is my main concern.
