Date: 1/29/13 10:11 AM I've heard (but haven't tried!) that you can put dressmakers chalk (the chalky kind not the waxy kind) on a piece of string, drawing pin the string across a door frame at the height you want your hem and then twirl against the string while wearing the skirt.

Date: 1/29/13 12:39 PM Turn slowly so the chalk leaves a mark on the cloth.
