But somehow, I missed the lesson that on a one-way stretch knit, the stretch should go AROUND the body horizontally, and not stretch up and down. j.

If it stretches in all directions it is four way stretch. I spent half of Sunday sewing a dress that is now in the trash. Luckily, I was able to claim it was just a muslin.

The only upside to this is: When I first tried the thing on, it was so TIGHT that I started to freak out thinking I REALLY must have packed on the pounds this holiday. Right: two-way stretch. It stretches from selvedge to selvedge more than lengthwise. But what makes me nuts is: the pattern has it laid out wrong! S'th'truth!

It's not that common, but it does happen, ask me how I know, lol! ------ My grandmother taught me to sew when I was 10, and I've been sewing ever since.
