Overall I am finding there are few companies who have in abundance mens trouser/slack patterns and I have looked at many even on Pattern Review. I just finished a pair of jeans from Kwik Sew but want something a little more formal, Not dress but like Khaki. Even went to JoAnn looking through catalogs, mostly for the female or children. Frustrating.

There a few options I will suggest, but the best way to find what you are looking for might be using the 'Shop Patterns' here on PR. Here I did a search for Mens - Pants.

My personal picks for mens trousers are
Kwik Sew 3267
Jalie 2107
Kwik Sew 2860 if you would like a pleated front pant.

Have you looked through Vogue and Burda? Both carry menswear.

Lekala has quite a few as well.

One warning about Burda- they are not sized for guys with athletic butts and thighs.

Actually. Burda is the only pattern line I have used successfully for my slim-hipped, athletic husband and son.

Having sewn for decades, I think it depends mostly on careful measurement and fitting, and Burda has some of the most exacting measurement charts anyone will ever run into-- but very few will follow these instructions, thinking it will take too much time.

In truth, you can make almost any pattern fit, but it is more work with some lines than others.

Hi, I used Burda 2009-11-133 to great success:

I used khaki linen and they came out wonderfully, we just had to take in the waist a little.
(Still need to do the review though - oops!)

ETA - I just checked out the simplicity patterns, and B7841 is the same pattern.

Burda has the most contemporary cuts for men imo.

Vogue just came out with two new men's patterns, one of which is a sport coat and nice, modern cut slacks.
