Just finished making this bag respectable.

The EllieG has a simple button to push to add the applique steps to a design.

In the case of trying to cover the logo of these SIMPLY AWESOME BAGS , I needed a square patch.

After goofing around with the settings on the machine, I found a way to add a square border to any design:

1. Bring in the design
2. Add a simple frame around the design
3. Hit the patch button to build the applique stitching
4. It will build the applique stitching around the frame.
5. Delete the frame.
6. The applique stitching will still remain square.

Pretty cool.

Great job! I can't imagine why you wouldn't want to carry a bag around with an opened mouth bass on it, though....
Love the owl patch

I did similarly with shopping totes. One of my favorites is a little stick man in shorts holding a saw. Made the shorts "Carhart" brown as the patch went onto a Lowe's tote.

Since i don't embroider on my Ellisimo do they have cutting blades to put into the machine to cut the patches after they are done stitching out? If you seriously do a lot of embroidery the 6 or 10 needle opens up a whole new world for patches. I'm really glad you love your machine it's a great machine.

There is no need to cut out the patches when they are completely done.

Instead, they're done applique-style - the fabric is put down on wash away stabilizer, the design is stitched out, then you trim the border of the patch (while still on the stabilizer) before the final satin stitch edge is laid down.

When done, the stabilizer is just washed away and you're left holding your new creation.
