Hi everyone.
First a big thank you to all. I lurk alot, and sew alot, and rarely post :).
I am giving up on my Singer Confidence, and have narrowed my choices down on sewing machines.
I am between the Juki 2010qi, a straight stitch only machine, that I felt like I could not break. It sews wonderfully, and a used Pfaff 1530 select. Both are mechanical, which at this time in my life is a must for me.
The Pfaff is $500 ish, and the Juki $900. I have $1175 put back for this purchase, and what is not spent will be put back for when my serger gives out. She is close to 25 now. A Babylock Proline by Juki.

I have a Juki dealer nearby but concerned I would be limited with the one stitch. I sew a good many knits, although I do them 100% on the serger at this time.

The Pfaff seems like the better option overall. (Please let me know if you disagree) I do mostly knits bc of the sm issue, but want to get into more decor, hunting/fishing clothes, diapers, bags...I do a varied amount currently. I mostly use my serger for anything thick and thus I am very limited on what I do. My Singer just will not hack it most of the time.

At any rate, is there any reason not to consider this older Pfaff? There are two reviews here, and I am not finding much elsewhere on the net.
My Juki dealer will service the Pfaff. He said it is a "fine" machine. Not the particular machine, it is online. He doesn't try to sway me either way, and I appreciate that.

There was a select 1530 here in my city on Craig's List still in the original box and used only once for $240, so the $500 I think is a bit much. I would offer max $350.
