I on to sewing the leaves on the first block. This wall hanging got reduced to 4 blocks. The leaves are fun but the trees are rather hard to cut out.

My first tree

I tried photobucket by my computer doesn't like it. After this I will be an sewing around a leave applique expert. It's fun though like it more then I thought. Wish the pics were better my phone doesn't do so well. Also took it with the tree sideways.

Very pretty but looks hard to cut out. I see why you are only doing 4 blocks. however, you might find it easier as you do the others.

Hands aren't bothering me too much as I guess I don't do a lot at a time and the leaves are ok it's the trees but I only cut one of those out once a week. Thumb where my bone spur is is sore but I'll live with it. the applique stitching was more difficult until I realize I could turn the fabric at every stitch if I want. Going to put my knee lift back on machine before I do any others. I'm just using embroidery thread t outline them so I can match the leaf color. Also not sure if I should stitch down trees as they are kinda of tacked down when I do the leaves. Next trees is going to have all civil war reproduction fabric for leaves. Not sure after that. Might see if I can get some charm paks from Joanns I've a ton of coupons.

I love this! You make me want to try appliqué, but I've got far too much on my plate right now. My first will likely be a Dresden Plate. Good for you for tackling this! So glad your hands survived!

What a great design idea for using small but nice pieces of fabric. Thanks for showing this.

Have you tired this method?

May be easier on the hands and wrists.
