Janome Platinum 720 or 760?

I can buy a used (over 18 months) 760 for $300 including shipping or 720 (new) for $400 inc. shipping. Which way would you go? The 760 has 60 stitches -vs-20 stitches on the 720. I guess that's the main difference in addition to 720 being new with warranty, but also extra $100.

It is not so limiting that it could not be one's only machine. The 720 is nice too but $400 just seems about $200 too much for what you get. So for me, I'd go with the 760 only if I was pretty certain it was in great shape and would be packed extremely well for shipping. -- Edited on 2/6/13 2:18 PM --

So much so that I tend to leave my big machine set up for embroidery and I do most of my sewing with my 760. When I bought my machine the machine with lower numbers in the list where not electronic machines, I don't know if that is still the case. I think of my Janome as a work horse and even though my grandson has managed to sneak into my sewing room to make something, he hasn't caused any problems. (please knock on wood for me). He is only eight and really doesn't know what he is doing only what he wants to create. I know for me; I tend to use a lot of the same stitches but for me the minute I had less stitches than I could have had, I will wish I had that one stitch that would make this seam look great. Tough decision between great and greater.. Good luck, jane
