Not leaving entirely....
I'm still gonna go give that Serenade a full test drive for a traveler... (thanks for all the help with that - especially Butter Bean!) ... and I'm still going to try to complete a project or two a month....
... and I still like putzing around my machines as "meditative" time...
...and it's still fun to pat the machines when I walk by....
But I'm going to let my sewing take a back burner for the most part for the next few months...
So with free time at a premium, I've decided to spend a little more time at the gun range and get certified as an NRA instructor. I've been a cheerleader for women to go get training and not be duped into being fearful of things (especially AR15's) just because they have seen too much stupid stuff on TV and haven't had the chance to understand what they really are.
I'm impressed with how many of the women I know already own guns (it was a pleasant shocker!) and after sending a few dozen women to learn from others, I think it's time I step up and have some fun and make a difference in that arena.
Just refocusing for a while.... and then fishing season starts.... ------ nightowlsally.com
On my radar someday: Babylock Serger, and some machine for travel.
My dearest wish is to have Bernina come out with a machine that doesn't give me a reason to *not* buy it.

Date: 2/6/13 3:22 PM Good for you. I think you would make an excellent instructor for these type of guns.
You have had a lot on your plate with moving and so forth, so you deserve some time off from sewing. Keep us posted. ------ Quilting is relaxing to me. I love to play with fabrics, patterns and colors.

Date: 2/8/13 1:49 AM Heh heh... you saw that ridiculous video, I assume?!?!?
What a joke, eh?
(For those that haven't seen it... Homeland Security has a YouTube video out on how to defend yourself until help arrives in an office situation if a shooter is present... it's laughable.)------ nightowlsally.com
