I was wondering how often you change your hairstyle? I just changed mine and my friends have loved it. I didn't change it much, just went from a side parted look to a center part with bangs.
Also, how often do you change your hair color? I play with semi-perm color all the time.
Thanks!

A few years ago, we were at a friend's birthday party, and one of the girls (who had a toddler) mentioned her "high school hair" because she had just tossed it into a ponytail. My hair was long in high school, then a bob to about my shoulders/chin for a long time (occasionally going longer), then I hacked it off and hated it when I was 22-23, and immediately grew it longer again.

The thing is, I have naturally curly hair. It looks the same whether it's just below my chin or the middle of my back.

So based off that, I had it cut into a pixie cut. I loved it, and kept it like that for two years, only changing it because I felt like it was time to change it. It's been my "goal length" for two haircuts now, and I'm already over it.

I think I'm going to try a Brazilian Keratin treatment, and then hack it back into a pixie when it's warm.

Would you please post about it here if you do get the Brazilian? I am very interested (Brazil is very active politically in my country these past few years so I imagine we will get the social/consummer stuff too, soon enough!). Thank you in advance.

I always think it is good to change your hair from time to time. Mine is mostly in a chin length bob with bangs over the past ten or so years, but my hairdresser keeps it current with colour changes and texturing etc. It used to be a shorter, inverted bob but now it has a bit more length and is a softer style cut.

Over 30 and still have your exact high school hair? Probably time to consider changing it up a bit to avoid the "stuck in the insert-decade-of-high-school-grad-here" look.

I hear ya on the curly hair thing. There is only so much you can do with it. I've had mine pixie short, down to my butt long, and just about everywhere in between despite being curly. I think with curly hair you can try new styles just be realistic in how it will look. But to the OP, I love changing my hair and do it quite often. I may get the same cut 2 or 3 times, then tell my stylist to do something new. My hair grows really fast though so I'm lucky, but it's hard to keep short styles up.

I moved and had one haircut here and she hacked me up. I'm going back home to visit and getting my haircut tomorrow...woohoo...by the most awesome stylist! I haven't had bangs in 20 years and have decided I need something new. So I'm going with the banged, rocker chic cut this time I think. And maybe red, or blonde, or...I don't know. We will see!

I haven't seen my natural hair color in 12 years (I started going gray in my mid-20's). My hair has been a ton of different colors--different shades of brown, red, highlights, lowlights, etc. I think hair color is fun to play around with.

I typically change my hairstyle every few years. I have a chin-length bob at the moment (hacked it off because my 8-month-old is in a yanking phase). Don't have any reviews up with the new 'do yet, though. I wish I had gotten bangs, though, which I haven't had in years. Maybe I'll ask for those when I go for my next cut.

I also have wavy hair and as others have noted, that kind of limits your options. I had been planning to get the Brazilian keratin treatment over a year ago, but then got pregnant and didn't want to do a heavy duty process on my hair while pregnant. (Ob/gyn had said that dye touch-ups were fine.) Still want to try the treatment, but it will need to wait until I have the time/money.

I ended up going with bangs, kind of an angled bob and she highlighted the heck out of it. I'm way blonde and love it! And she put purple color on the front tips of the bob. It's awesome! I can hide them if I need too as well.

I leave both up to my hairdresser. I just sit in the chair and away she goes! Trying a new color today as I type this from the chair, in fact!

Sewingsilly - I should add that the style on your avatar is very flattering. Wonder how long it takes you to get it looking like that every day!

I do a consult for style at least once a year. IMO Nothing ages you like having a stale, out of style haircut. Go to the mall and people watch. A good haircut says so much. Go for the change. It is only hair and will grow out
