I think it's so pretty and I love the slope on the front and the big draw that pulls out. I am sure the machine will sew fine. I have newer Singers and they all work great. The price on Amazon is very good and if you don't like, you have 30 days to send it back. ------ Thank you Lord for my Mother who taught me the joy of sewing.

Date: 2/11/13 7:46 AM Sorry, awesome feed system on a Singer this cheap is an oxymoron. If you are looking for a "awesome" feed system for anywhere near this price you need to buy a used pfaff. I'm not saying this is a terrible machine but in sewing machines you get what you pay for. Awesome is stretching it a bit. However, because there are a couple negative ones, I would buy this from a store (JoAnn) and not online just in case I got one that was a bummer and it had to be returned. The manager of my local Hancocks recommened the Computerized Brother SC9500 to a customer last week, while I was in the store. It looks like a nice machine. Hancocks has it on sale for $199.99 from Feb. 17-19.

Agree. I look for an overall balance of more positive than negative. (I also look at "what" they are saying negative. Some problems are worse than others; some problems are more likely to be user error than machine error.)

The best features of this machine are the ease of use and the ergonomic shape.
