I realized years ago that if you see a pattern you really like you need to get it soon as they do go OOP in a few years. And very often if you find it later like on ebay or somewhere it costs more than if you would've bought it while on a pattern sale right away.

I look at the review gallery and often love something someone has made and add that pattern to my wish list. Especially now that I have GC the kids patterns really attract me. I keep adding them to my wish list and then buy them when someone has a sale. Then I take them off my wish list and move them to my pattern catalog. I am constantly sewing and have soooo much more I plan to make. Let me be clear...I use or plan on using many of my patterns. But do you suppose there comes a time when someone has enough patterns? All my patterns are lovingly organized both at home and on PR in the Pattern Catalog, and I can find any particular pattern in about 20 seconds. But really, do I need more when I have over 300 patterns. I am beginning to think I am an addict. What do you all think?

I guess I am wondering how many patterns you who call yourself pattern addicts have? I really love the pattern catalog feature on PR. Do many of you use that feature? That feature counts your patterns and is why I know I have 308 patterns.

I've only used to PR pattern catalog for a wish list. I'm interested in other ways to use it, but can't imagine trying to add all my current patterns.

I'm not an addict. I am a Collector. I have a Collection of patterns. I could have SMAD and really have a problem, you know.

As of today, I have 1267 patterns in my PR catalog. That isn't all of them and doesn't have any of the magazines, but it does include anything I am likely to be able to buy now or that I may buy a pattern similar to one I already have. For the catalog alone, I'd keep paying the FoPR fee, less than $2.50 per month is so worth the benefits. I like the catalog a lot. I can sort them and search them, I can make comments on the ones I've made or plan to make, indicate what fabric I'd planned to use, etc. If the pattern is current, I can copy and past the pattern description in the comment box. When I shop or travel, I don't have a smartphone that would give me access to my PR catalog, so I use my iPod with the albums divided by pattern type and brand and whatever other sort I want at the moment.

I love it!

Yes, that's it, exactly. I also am a Collector, and certifiable (in several ways), for I think I have over a thousand actual patterns in my stash--and that's after regular weeding.

However, I try to keep primarily basics (in all sizes, from newborn to pretty darn big) and patterns that are, to my eye, extraordinary in some way--a unique design feature, a couturier sewing technique, or something I'm not likely to see come round again.

Because I've been sewing since dinosaurs walked the earth, I really have some idea if an idea has made a return in the last century or so.

I do...I love it. I've got all my patterns logged in there (410 right now). I also add notes about fabrics purchased for a particular pattern. When you buy patterns here on PR they are automatically added to your Pattern Catalog. I also like how you can see all the reviews for each pattern.
I actually plan on using most patterns I buy. Is that delusional?! LOL

Oh ladies, thank you for replying and telling me you have way more patterns than me!!!!!!!!!!! Makes me feel so good!!!!!!

I was thinking maybe I had too many patterns and now I know I can keep looking at the gallery and keep adding to my wish list if I want!!! Yippee!!!!!

I do agree that the mere cost of membership to PR is well worth the cost to use the wish list and pattern catalog features. And getting 10% off patterns purchased here along with getting free shipping when you spend $25.00 for patterns that are 'on sale.' That's a win-win!!!

Oh I feel so much better!!!!

I love the pattern catalog and the wish list. Otherwise, I'd need a memory, and that's not going to happen! :)

I only use the pattern catalogue for my "current" patterns. It makes it so much easier when I want to write a review. I only have 89 patterns in there but in real life I have 390. So go ahead...keep collecting! It's cheaper than smoking and better for you too.
