Date: 2/22/13 10:11 AM I tried to register using the FEBPROMO phrase, but Patternreview said that this coupon is not valid. However, your site says that using FEBPROMO will give me a 20% discount or around $9.00. Patternreview is giving me only a $4.00 discount. Can you please help me get the 20% discount advertised? Thank you. |

Date: 2/23/13 3:55 PM I want to make a quilted "Chanel" style jacket. Is this a class that would help with some of those unique construction skills a project like this would need. I have made jackets before, sewn for over two decades. Never formally trained, just family tradition. I really want to deepen construction skills. Term beginner doesn't bother me, absence of outline makes me wonder if this would help.

Subject: Re: Pre Registration Q&A Date: 2/24/13 2:03 PM This class does not help with the Chanel Style jacket, in fact I am finishing up the videos for a class that you might like. This particular class covers the basics of jackets, including:
-Pattern choices and measurements
-Interfacing, lining, layout, and cutting
-Attaching interfacing and preparing patterns pieces
-Quick recap of finding the grainline and cutting
-Quick recap of pressing interfacing
-Preparing the sleeve cap
-Sewing princess seams
-Setting the sleeves
-Tips for the collar and lapel
-Facing and lining
-Final touches including trims
There are two more classes coming down the pike: contemporary couture jacket (like the chanel style) and tailoring techniques (hand tailoring techniques). I think you might like these two classes better.

Date: 3/5/13 7:41 AM Angela, will this class show you how to put in sleeve heads? Is it possible for me to also get a discount on this class or has it expired.
Thanks |

Subject: I'm already signed up for.... Date: 3/5/13 6:29 PM I'm already signed up for Sew a Designer Unlined Jacket, as well as Create a Jacket Muslin. I've never made a jacket, but have been too busy with other classes to start working on those jacket classes. Now that I've learned some basics about underlinings, linings, etc... I'm ready to actually make something! What does this class include that the others don't have? How much info overlaps? I really do want to make some jackets - I love wearing them! Should I start here at the beginner class or is it all included in my other classes? ------ SewWannabe-SewReady |

Subject: Re: I'm already signed up for.... Date: 3/6/13 9:55 AM Hi again :)
This class is a little different. The muslin class walks you through fitting your jacket, but does not include sewing techiniques. The unlined jacket class has bias wrapped seams, topstitching, and a few things like that. This class walks you through choosing fabrics, patterns, lining, interfacing. Attaching lining, adding a sleeve head, and trim ideas. Let me know if you have any more questions about it and thanks for taking my other classes :)
