I have been wondering if this is all that it is hyped up to be. I want to do my own embroideries from pictures and clip art. Doing it with a mouse is very time consuming as you fix the nodes placement along the lines of the picture. Lets just say drawing with a mouse is not like a pencil! Has anyone seen this in action? What do you think?

I have the 5d pro. I asked about the drawing kit and the lady told me I can buy any wacom/bamboo tablet to use.

I purchased a drawing tab for $40 bucks during the holiday sale. What I do is print out an object, then trace it then do some changes. It is great if you want to do quilting designs where in you can limit the stitches.. etc. Anyway, the best thing to do is to contact a dealer..

I looked around online to see prices and wow I can't believe how much they want for tablets. As I'm tracing over a picture with my mouse, and believe me it doesn't look pretty , I start to wonder can't I just buy a stylus that hooks into the usb port of my computer? I have looked and I can't find anything. Maybe I'm not calling it the right thing. I can't believe someone hasn't made something like that.

I have a tablet and use it frequently for freehand looking lines. Look for an older generation tablet, like Wacom Intuos 2 or 3. You should be able to get those at substantial savings compared to the latest generation.
