Date: 2/14/13 9:18 PM I would like to purchase some lightweight cotton jersey fabric to use with the drape drape book patterns. I am fairly new in working with knits and would like to find some less expensive (but not necessarily lesser quality) fabric to start with as I expect some experimentation at first. I have researched this but am wondering if there is an inside tip on the best place/price for jersey online.
Thanks for any input! :-) |

Date: 2/14/13 9:26 PM High End Fabrics has lovely quality knits and good prices. Sometimes the shipping seems high but the service is so fast it is near instant gratification so I find it worth the cost. He also has an etsy.com store if you don't want to deal with ebay. ------ Liz

Lots of fabric at a good price. Sometimes you can find them at places like Ross. ------ My grandmother taught me to sew when I was 10, and I've been sewing ever since. |

Date: 2/15/13 7:35 AM SewLiz....Have you ever used the micro modal fabric? It appears to be very drapey..very fluid. Anyone know if it is tricky to work with? |

Date: 2/27/13 11:26 PM Those fabrics look very nice. I love that he shows yardage and drape. So much easier to visualize using it than a small square. |

Date: 3/6/13 12:02 PM I just happened to see your post today while searching for something else. I have purchased large quantities, but you can buy small amounts, from Koshtex. The owner is very nice and he sent me some nice samples. I was only looking for pfd fabrics because I'm a dyer, but he carries colors in lots of different Lycra blends. The modal and micro modal he sent me is lovely, and I have yards of the modal Lycra which I am dyeing and painting to my heart's content. The website is www.koshtex.com. So far, I find them easy to work with, but I'm making simple drapey tanks. |
