Since I can't yet afford the Pfaff of my dreams I thought I might think about a older Pfaff mainly for the IDT. Don't need embroidery was wondering what was one of the good older Pfaff in the past 15to 20 years? Would prefer computerized but would consider a mechanical. I have no knowledge of Pfaff except for the raves about the IDT and when I first start watching Sewing with Nancy that's what she had.

You aren't planning to be up visiting Vancouver BC in the near future, by any chance?

Didn't think so, but had a cunning plan if you were.

Honestly. if you are getting an older Pfaff .. get a mechanical. as I would think any really older computerized model might be on its last years .. When you buy used you just can't really tell how many hours.. how much use it has had..
Oh.. screw it.. I will mail you one of mine.. Problem solved..

When I was in middle school one of my friends at the time, her mom gave her and old Pfaff. I'm guessing about 1972. I thought it was the neatest thing. It sounded neat and had all these buttons etc. I have no idea how many stitches it did. Do/did all the Pfaffs have the idt feed? I notice some on ebay didn't mention it.

I have no idea.. was on my way to look.. I know a variamatic . and I think a hobby.. and I know I have a vintage 230 I think. very heavy that one.. and thats a good start.. as I think all have that IDT .. I would not mind giving you that vintage at all. hate it as its just too heavy.. so you tell me.. do you want an old vintage or a newer model.. We will have to just determine which are electronic , which are mechanical.. and so on.. but I do believe at least my newer models have that IDT..
Yes, I know what you are thinking. but really when you have as many as I do its hard to keep them straight..

Ok. that old vintage model. its a 260.. has that colored dial thing you use to find the different stitches.. Has a knee bar instead of a foot control to sew .. And %$#% I forgot to check the IDT for it..
Maybe another member knows just what year pfaff introduced that IDT.
i THINK ONLY The very bottom line of pfaffs.. maybe the smart models.. those ... do not have that IDT.
