Subject: baggy front Date: 2/19/13 4:21 PM

Is there a way to adjust only the front crotch in a pair of wrap shorts? I am trying to upload a photo. Only the front is loose. The rest seems okay., but there is a little bump on the back.

Are they too baggy vertically or horizontally?

If you get a pouch when you sit down it's an easy fix. Slash across the pattern piece mid tummy and overlap the center front leaving alone at the side seam (so, a wedge).

If the shorts are all made up you may be able to take out some height by removing the front of the waistband, cutting the center front lower, and replacing the waistband.

If they are poofy below the zipper (this happended to me once in a very oddly shaped pattern) you can take up some of that fabric at the crotch point.

It might help to post photos if you are able.

Thanks MNBarb! It seems to be at the crotch point. I've added a link to photos. I couldn't link it from my phone. I haven't made them up yet. I want to get the fit right before I cut the good fabric.

These shorts don't zip or anything... they wrap around and tie in the front and back. I'm thinking of removing the tie from the front and adding buttons so they only wrap from one side... but I want to get the fit right first.

Thank you so much for the link to the video! I think I now have a perfect fit. I'm just debating whether to try another muslin or jump into my real fabric. Since a I actually want to wear these as a swimsuit cover on vacation next month; I may try one more muslin just to make sure.

Thanks again to you both. I'll post a picture once I complete the outfit.
