1 member likes this. Date: 2/19/13 10:43 PM I ordered a new 750 in early January and am so excited to get it. BUT....I keep reading about people struggling to get a good 1/4" for piecing(quilting). Since quilts are my main sewing interest right now, it has me worried. I don't remember having a problem while testing the machine at the dealers. Those of you who have this machine....have you had trouble? ------ Theresa |

Date: 2/20/13 8:07 AM First of all, congratulations on purchasing your new 750! Hope you receive it soon.
I have not used a 7 Series machine, only saw them demoed at a quilt show or two. However, I did watch the Bernina Webinar yesterday on constructing a "table quilt" - instructor said it covered her small table and that's why she called it that. Anyhow, there were great tips on obtaining that perfect, scant 1/4 inch for piecing using the 7 Series (780 was used in the Webinar), and the #37 foot and dual feed. The Webinar will be available to view on Bernina's website in a couple weeks under the tab, "What's New."
You might want to check it out. I'm pretty convinced that piecing on these beauties should not be an issue. |

Date: 2/20/13 12:56 PM Congrats on your new machine! If you don't like using the 37 foot, just put on the 1D foot, and push the needle all the way to the right (or however many clicks it takes). This is what I do on my 9mm machine. True, you cannot use the SS plate, but I've never had a problem. A good sharp needle preventsthe fabric from being eaten.
Best of luck with your new beauty! ------ Bernina 730E, 530, and 350PE
