Issues with fitting skirt Butterick 5566

Date: 2/20/13 12:07 PM I think this is what you have going on at the waist as I look at your side view. http://thesewingspace.com/2012/01/20/its-a-monster/ Lena does an excellent job of explaining the pattern adjustment needed. Also, you have what I call "hip ears" which happens to women like us who aren't hourglass-y. The pattern has more curve than your body. Measure at the hip, add the ease you like in a skirt and choose the matching size. You will need to measure your waist and cut the pattern bigger there. I usually cut a 12 at the hip and up to a 16 at the waist. It's easy if the pattern is multi-sized. ------ Barb "I have not failed. I've just found 10,000 ways that won't work."
