I'm having some banquette cushions made for a dining area. I really want something that will last and be easy to take care of and clean. The shop I'm working with recommended Sunbrella fabric. It looks nice to me. Should I have any concerns about how it will wear and clean up? They also tell me it won't fade, I guess it's meant for outdoors too. Thanks in advance.

Sunbrella does make outdoor fabrics.. But you can also use commercial made fabrics.. made for bars and such..
However.. it is your home.. so just buy a decent fabric.. not a thin thread count but an actual upholstery fabric and scotchguard it.. I would do that whatever fabric I used..

I have sunbrella fabric on a bench on my front porch. It looks and wears great. I made my own cushions and it was very easy to sew. As I worked on it I was thinking I would use it for my kitchen chairs. So, yes, it cleans up easily, does not fade and you just don't have to worry about it.

Another option is Crypton fabric. They have their own website and also sell it at Joanns. That's where I bought mine. They have it on their website and I special ordered mine when it was on sale, They have some beautiful faux suedes and chenilles. I had my couch reupholstered in a Crypton chenille several years ago and it't wearing very well. I liked it so much I bought some more for a loveseat in my family room.

My grandmother taught me to sew when I was 10, and I've been sewing ever since.
