We are now in mexico and while it is absolutely wonderful camping next to the beach...I am having some yearning for my home, my sewing studio and my horses, friends, yard and so on. we have had very little WiFi, or power at all through this winter until we came down to Mexico. Even here, though, I cannot post to my blog easily or even FB.
I'm sewing V 1197 tunic right now-that is the Sandra betzina pattern with the cowl and ruched sleeves. If it turns out, I'll bring it to SF. Cutting is problematic in a trailer, and fitting!...hahahaaaa
Miss the community here. I'm reading when I can, and looking at the Gallery, but sometimes get dropped so I have been posting less. See you in a month, and then in SF. ------ my blog: http://kf-biblioblog.blogspot.com/

It sounds idyllic to camp near the beach in Mexico, of course, we are shivering up here in Wisconsin.
Have a safe trip home! ------ Barb |

Date: 2/22/13 11:26 PM What an idea...we could all travel down here for a retreat. I'm sure the park would put us all up. When we get tired of learning from a fave clinician, we can sew in our own trailers...then walk along the beach, play with the dogs, or take a beach ride on one of the rental horses.
Some folks down the way have been making aprons using men's shirts. They trimmed the backs and sleeves, made binding and ties, and finished the edges. They are cute! They also made birdhouses-it's a very organized group that packs a table saw!
I have cut out V1197 and had to piece the back. I like the piecing and think I will try it again in a solid color and add piping. Anyway, tomorrow I will work on the cowl and sleeves. I think I need clear elastic but don't think the fabric store has that. I can use lingerie elastic most likely. I cut the tunic very large through the hips so it will hang more like a dress-and plan to wear it with leggings or slim pants.

Thanks for the well wishes-it's nice to talk to you! ------ my blog: http://kf-biblioblog.blogspot.com/
