I have two home-made 'SPRINKLERS'.

For a CLOTHES DAMPENER, I take a clean plastic milk bottle, heat up a pin and burn 6 holes in the plastic top.

For a STARCH SPRINKLER, I use a plastic peanut butter jar (that I can get my hand in to clean). This time, I use something bigger than a pin to burn the holes in the plastic lid: a T-Pin or a Push Pin.

And, I have a version for sprinkling plants at work: I use a smaller little plastic juice bottle.

We used to make similar items with pop bottles way back before steam irons and plastic and electric clothes dryers.

You can still get the pierced stoppers to make a pop bottle sprinkler.

Oh how fun. I can't wait to read more responses. I use thread spools that are cardboard tubes like these on my sewing machine. I took apart a small foam hair curler apart and stuffed the foam inside the cardboard tube. The foam already has a little hole in it for my spool holder metal thingy. Now my thread turns evenly.

I got a greeting card once that was black on one side and white on the other. I keep it by my sewing machine because it really helps me thread the sewing machine needle!

Glass mug for holding serger cones in lieu of a thread stand. Cardboard plus a piece of swimming pool noodle with a ruler stuck in it for measuring long hems.

ETA - you can see the pool noodle foam also makes a good pin cushion and the yellow paper marking the height is a sticky note. Have occasionally attempted to use DH as a pin cushion, but not recommended.

My sewing machine faces the wall. I put a nail in the wall and clip my pattern instructions to a skirt hanger so it's right in front of me and easy to change up.

Paint chips!

If I'm basing my spring wardrobe on, say, a jacket, I can't carry that jacket everywhere I go. So I take it to the paint store to find a chip that matches. I can carry a bunch of paint chips in my purse and have them handy whether I'm buying fabric, ready to wear or scrounging around in the thrift store or garage sale!

A bunch of us use a pad of Post-It notes as a seam guide.

Make sure you get the

They work GREAT!
