Multiple projects

I've been working on the tree one. Almost done putting together then to quilt and bind. It's a wall hanging so won't take that long. But I'm am eager to move on to other projects. I got all my stonehenge I order so want to move onto the Spash one. But I fused some of the wolf pieces and cut them out. That cutting is going to be very labor intensive so I will have to do that long other projects. And not taking my time with the trees as I want to be on to other things. Do you find yourselves rushing through a project to get finished to get to something else your more excited about? ------ quiltingwolf.blogspot.com

Nothing like looking in your fabric stash to find the perfect fabric for the quilt you're currently working on. Then a week later you pull out one of the UFO and look for the fabric you had set aside to make backing and binding with- you guessed it. Nothing worse than boxes and boxes of unfinished stuff that only needed an hour or so more of work.

Date: 2/26/13 5:11 AM I try to have a few in the works so I can switch off projects when I get tired of working on one. Even if its just pulling fabric for the next one - or cutting the next one while I quilt the other. Im lucky - I literally do not have room for many unfinished projects. -- Although, If I store the dishes in the 'fridge Id have a few more shelves..... ------ Drag queen quilter!

Got a PR idea to recycle the clear zip and snap pouches that bedding and curtains come in. Everytime I put something down for a while it goes into one of those- pattern, thread, pieces, notes, notions, etc. So they are still easy to see and scream out to me- I'm all ready to finish up if you have a minute! ------ re-living my youth through sewing...

I still am NOT enjoying that Easy street quilt. After days and days and days that turned into a month of working on it and STILL having so much left to do, I am just sick of it! I am not sick of the swirls, they are just so time consuming. I have to gear myself up for spending hours at the pressing board. The actual sewing part of preparing the swirls takes a few seconds. Then it's an hour of press press press...... I much prefer making quilt tops that can be put together in a day or two, or even 3, but these tops that require weeks or months to piece, not having as much fun with them. That was one thing I DID really like about garment sewing. I never had UFO's because they just don't take that long to make! There isn't much that can't be made in a day or 2, even if you do have to make your own pattern for it. I am now getting ansty about the Project Linus meeting that is getting closer and closer. I HAVE to get started on my quilts for it. So easy street is going to get put away for a bit, and to be honest I am NOT going to miss it! I really LOVE making kids' quilts because they are much smaller. I need a few that can be done start to finish in a few days to keep my craving for fabrics and colors fed. ------ Cathryn

Also Cat not sure if you get tired from "standing" at your ironing board but remember you can make it any height. Also I got one of the June Tailor press and cut mats and I love it. It's perfect for pressing small pieces right on your cutting table. I have no room for and ironing board in my sewing room. And Hubby's downstairs always has piles of his clothes on there to be ironed. I'm not moving them. Thinking of getting another to have twice the iron surface. ------ quiltingwolf.blogspot.com
