Yesterday we had fun with our granddaughter. We did some sewing. Which she like to do. When she came she said. Grandma let go down stairs and sew. We did a project while she sewed on her little machine. Our project was a t-shirt we painted. We did do some reading. Then we went over to menards grandpas store. We just had a great day with Kimberly.
So what is everyone else doing? Need some news here!!!!!
Happy birthday , happy anniversary, or happy anything today !!!
Have a great march 4th day!!!!!

Date: 3/4/13 11:39 AM I would have loved having a Grandma like you. She has her own little sewing machine?? How cute is that!
Mighty sick of ice and snow but still looking forward to St. Patrick's Day - being of Irish decent on my Mom's side. I usually make a beef stew with Guiness Beer and lots of veggies, Irish Soda Bread, and Champ (mashed potatoes baked with green onion, some spices and an egg). Perhaps the stew is not authentically Irish but it tastes mighty good.
Not sure I can take it on this year. Might have take solice in canned Irish stew, Breadmaker bread, and store bought mashed potatoes. No matter... the spirit will still be there and that is all that matters.

I am so ready for Spring. In a few weeks, I'll be starting seeds for the garden (indoors). Then when they germinate, I will really be ready for Spring! |

1 member likes this. Date: 3/4/13 5:21 PM We have a snowfall warning here as well and it has been snowing pretty much steady since I go up this morning. They say we could get up to 15 cm (approx. 6"). It's windy but the temps aren't too bad.
My birthday is in a couple of weeks -- DH gave me an early surprise with tickets to see Great Big Sea a few days before my birthday.
Busy, busy dancing month with socials, ceilidhs and classes.

Date: 3/5/13 11:19 AM My neice and her DH are adopting twins, a boy and a girl from Haiti. It has been a long, long, LONG, process. They will be 3 years old on March 13 - the same day they are FINALLY coming to Canada to live with their forever family!!
They will not have kinder, more loving parents and two beautiful older sisters to love them to bits. I am so very happy for them and grateful this long awaited day is just around the corner for them.
Now, if only any of us could speak Haitian Creole...

Date: 3/5/13 11:46 AM Just before news of the snowstorm I was wondering if spring would be right around the corner, alas, cold weather yet.
March 1st is my birthday, so I always feel like the month of March is a special month altogether. That plus the flowers start to bloom. I have to get my tomato plants started soon so they'll be ready when the weather warms up some more.
My sister is 12 weeks pregnant, and her most recent ultrasound shows something that actually kind of looks like a baby, rather than a strange fetal alien. I am not good with children but I am so happy and excited for her. I think my awkwardness with kids will just have to be satisfied by instead of pampering in real life, simply making and sending a ton of things to my sister and her hubs for the baby.
And I still need to decide what serger I want! A birthday gift from my folks this year, but I am sooo caught between two (seemingly wonderful) options! ------ Call me Han.
I'll try anything once :) |

Continuing to snow here with wind. Almost done though the weatherman said. I have stayed in. DH got to work okay but it took him over an hour to do it. ....

How much snow did y'all get? People here are losing their bananas...but every time I check the forecast the prediction decreases. I'll be surprised if we get any snow accumulation.
Yes, this Sunday is spring ahead! ------ Call me Han.
