Doing your own Craftsy class? I bet it'd fill up fast with all of us who would love to learn from you! Of course I don't know if you can teach someone else to have the same kind of eye for color/flair maybe that's an inate gift? but coaching us to break some rules could be part of the content. i particulary would love to know how that roses quilt was done. it is not apparent in looking at it. its still one of my faves. Well, it just occurred to me to toss it out there if you hadn't considered it.

I think that would be fun - I did submit a book proposal to one of the craft book publishers.

I think there are still lots of people out there who dont fit into the "modern" quilt guild. Not for any bad reason. But, because I think there are still people who think they can save money by buying a sewing machine. And, my proposal was about sewing with more (not 100%) but more recycled fabrics and using lots of raw edge applique to create designs (like curves) that it takes lots of skill to do piecing but not with raw edge.

And I wanted to talk about breaking the rules and doing things that still resulted in quality finished products. Its about knowing what rules can be broken and how to bend the ones that seem to need bending.

I think it could be fun to try to teach more.

Or put together your own e-book in PDF form and sell it off your blog.

I have a few friends who have done that self publishing process... I would like to do that. I might at some point.

I also like video, though - I might just start doing more videos. You tube works well. It really just takes 6 hours to load a 15 min video.

If you want to publish, the truth is that a real publisher is always the best. The words "Self-published" are as death when you want to do more main line work (yes, I know there are some successes here - usually in the more "pop" or "schlock" vein). Your talents would find a good outlet in something like Craftsy!! If you want to do this - go for it!I hope you keep a nice file of all your great quilt pics, and then the ones where someone has it on display or using it - I think a book of that sort would be just great! Nice alternative quilting for the new century!
