I haven't sewn as much for my son as my daughter mostly because there aren't as many patterns. I have made him a few ties and a few pajama sets but he wants me to make shirts and a tux. (strange request but he also wore his first tie every day for a month just because it was the first thing I made him)
Where can I find patterns for what he wants and pants/shorts?

Probably your best bet is Burda; you don't say what size you are looking for, but Burda has suit patterns for boys, teens and men. They also have a costume pattern for boys with a tailcoat. Kwik Sew makes a separate blazer pattern, and a vest and dress pants pattern for boys. You could adapt them by adding a satin stripe on the leg, and satin lapels to the jacket. I am not so familiar that I know any other details, but I would think you could look at pics and choose the ones you wanted.
Then wear with a bow tie and dress shirt, and you've got it!

I sew for my nephew a few times a year and it's really hard to find good patterns for boys after age 7+! lekala has been my best source since they make any of their patterns to whatever measurements you put in. They've got a bunch of good casual patterns for boys with RTW details.

I've found Burda good too, and have used patterns from the magazines for cargo pants and jeans for my boys with good results. Some are available for download here

Depending on how old your son is.... You might look at Jalie (don't be put off by adults on the pattern fronts. Sizes for kids and adults are included in the patterns.) For casual stuff, I had good experiences with KwikSew shorts and shirts when my son was young. Lekala is an excellent suggestion; I'm a recent convert to their patterns and they are really enjoyable because of the excellent fit.

My son is just getting into 5/6 pants and closer to a 7 for shirts. I have never downloaded a pattern before. I have just used my first Jalie pattern for a swimsuit for my daughter and allready made a list of more I want to get for both of us.
Thanks

Not a tux, but review on KwikSews vest pattern

Jalie's got nice shirt, tee, and trouser patterns for boys.

And I've used Kwik Sew patterns through the years, too. My youngest son's favorite shirts (raglan sleeved tees) are Kwik Sews.

Burda's got some stylish patterns, but not very many of them.

You could try Ottobre, too. I haven't gotten to any of their boys' patterns yet, but the girls' ones have been nice.

When my husband and I were dating I sewed him a blaze orange tux. (I thought he was joking when he asked for it so I said "if I getting a matching outfit"..an hour later we were picking out fabric and patterns, and I got a matching outfit)..he wants a tux like daddy's
